Mr Michele Giavini runs ARS ambiente, an Italian consultancy company focusing on source separation and treatment of the organic fraction of MSW. He focuses on waste data processing, odour air dispersion modeling, and sustainable waste management in megacities worldwide. He has prepared Integrated Waste Management Plans for regional councils, and is an active member of the European Compost Network, of the Italian Composting Association and of ISWA’s Working Group on Biological Treatment.

The International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) on behalf of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) initiative entitled ” Mitigating SLCPs from the Municipal Solid Waste Sector ” welcomes participating cities and state partners to take part in the upcoming two part Webinar series on Organic Waste Management and Treatment Options.
A unique opportunity to gain knowledge from some of the world’s leading experts on the implementation of solutions aimed at managing the organic stream of municipal solid waste. Organic Waste is the largest stream of MSW and a major source of methane emissions (which has a global warming potential 21 x stronger than CO2), effective management not only reduces the impacts on the climate but brings numerous other economic and health benefits.
Part 1: Introduction to Organic Waste Management & Treatment Options
Monday 26th May.
This webinar will provide participants with an introduction, background to and benefits of organics management, an overview of the common technologies available and broach on the key factors that need to be considered when establishing technologies for organics management. Furthermore participants will learn about how to access additional resources concerning organics management.

Part 2: Overview and Practical implementation of Organics Waste Treatment Options

This second webinar will provide more detail and information regarding the practical implementation of organic technologies (including costs), case studies will be highlighted and an overview of the key considerations for establishing organics treatment will be covered.
The webinar is aimed at participants who already have some understanding of Organic waste management.
