Michele Giavini presents the results of @ScowBiowaste project for low-cost/low-tech #composting & #collection at #ISWA2016 Master Congress Centre, in Novi Sad, Serbia, (www.iswa2016.org)
The Climate and Clean Air Coalition’s Municipal Solid Waste Initiative (MSWI) will hold a workshop on reducing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) from the solid waste sector in countries in the South East Europe and the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) regions. This event will take place at the Master Congress Centre, in Novi Sad, Serbia, on September 21 and 22, 2016, following the ISWA World Congress (www.iswa2016.org).
The workshop will offer participants training to use the tools developed by the MSWI and the opportunity to learn from shared experiences of partners in the region. During this 1.5-day workshop, city representatives will conduct a site visit to the state of the art landfill in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Hercegovina. Furthermore, cities will build up action plans guided by experts from the waste management field and by representatives of the MSWI. The goal of the workshop is to help participants develop a robust waste management action plan to achieve real reductions in short-lived climate pollutants and other development benefits.
Representatives from CCAC cities from all over the world are invited to join the workshop. However, financial support to assist the workshop will be provided to a few selected cities from the South East Europe and the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) region. Please contact the organizer, Kata Tisza (email@example.com) for more details.
This workshop is being organized by ISWA and is a joint effort of CCAC Partners, led by Canada, Mexico, the United States of America, and C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40 Cities), in collaboration with other MSWI partners.
